Sara Nesteruk


Motion graphics and research. I am a graduate of the
Royal College of Art in London. My commercial training was
as a design trainee at BBC Broadcast. My PhD work,
Recipes for Baking Bread, Exploring Stories from Holodomor,
Ukraine 1932–1933
was at Leeds Beckett University from
2015–2022. This project supervision is by Professor
Lisa Stansbie and Professor Simon Morris.
        I am a member of AHRC Peer Review College starting
my term from 2022. I have eight years academic experience
as a lecturer at the University of Huddersfield. I am
Associate Lecturer at Central St Martin’s, UAL. Sessional
lecturing includes work at Chelsea College of Arts and
Ravensbourne University London.
       My professional experience is in TV, projection and
film. This includes work on London 2012 Olympics as
part of a staff position at BBC Sport, a short film
The Accident, a commission from Channel 4, and a
commission for the School of Life, Why We (Sometimes)
Wish Those We Love Might Die
. In 2017 I received
an Artists’ International Development Award from
Arts Council England. I am a fellow of the RSA and an
academic rep for FACE.




I have beginners level Ukrainian language skills and
experience working in Kyiv. I completed a residency at
the Holodomor Museum in Kyiv in 2017. I’d love to complete
more work in this area.
        Client handling experience includes projects for NHS
Calderdale and Huddersfield. Successful funding
bids and applications, managing budgets, schedules
and live projects with students. This includes
collaborations with musicians and commissioning audio.
        My teaching work includes live projects, production
training and administrative responsibilities. I am
course leader for MA Graphic Design at the
University of Huddersfield. Previous projects include
an exhibition of students’ work in collaboration with
Heritage Quay. The George Wood project appeared
at the Piazza Shopping Centre Huddersfield in 2016. More
